About

Ilona Hyett is an associate attorney with Cummins, Goodman, Denley & Vickers P.C.  Ms. Hyett’s practice focuses on workers’ compensation, OSHA, and other administrative law defense.  Before becoming an attorney, she worked as a registered nurse for many years, both in patient care and management. Having observed certain injustices and issues while working in healthcare, she decided to pursue the legal profession as an avenue to create substantive change. Upon successfully shifting her career trajectory, she found herself especially drawn to areas of law where she could put her healthcare background to good use, such as workers’ compensation.

When Ms. Hyett is not practicing law, she stays active through CrossFit and enjoys walks to local markets, to support nearby farms and businesses. She also enjoys mixing it up by learning new skills and has taken up Salsa dancing with her husband.

I enjoy the variety and the constant challenge of being an attorney. Heraclitus said that “the only constant in life is change.” This applies to the profession of law perhaps more than any other field. There is never a dull moment in the work of an attorney.
